Jullay, to all my readers. I know its August but Jullay means hello or Namaste in Ladakh. Everyone you meet in Ladakh always greets you with Jullay and a bright beautiful smile. So after procrastinating for almost a month I am writing this blog just a day before it's release on a Monday evening of 21st, beating the Monday blues I suddenly recalled the innumerable shades of blue that I witnessed on the Pangong Tso (Pangong means high grassland and Tso means lake). The road that takes you to the lake is quite boring, barren, steep, risky and lonely. But as soon as the lake comes in the visibility spectrum, what you see is spectacular.

I saw shades of blue dancing in front of my eyes. In one moment I saw light blue, the next was cobalt blue and before I could be sure to say so it was turquoise and in the blink of an eye it was teal. Well my knowledge of colors gave up at that moment and I believe I saw all the shades of blue that day. Beyond the blue I saw the calm sky looking into the Pangong lake like a teenager looking into the mirror and dressing itself for an evening date. Well let me not lie it was looking gorgeous/handsome.
I think the sky was going on a date with the magnificent mountain ranges that surround the lake because I saw them too looking into the Pangong lake mirror, and they too looked all set! I am sure they had a great rendezvous. The lake is a saltwater lake as I had read in textbooks, so just to be sure I even tasted the water to make sure if it was salty, and yes it was too salty.(Please don't repeat this, textbooks always state facts!)
Though blues mean a feeling of depression, but when you see the Pangong blues the meaning of blues will forever change, because those blues can completely alter your mood and just make you believe in the fact that blue is beautiful!
Well sometimes in life everything feels like Monday blues, in fact life itself feels like a longer and never ending version of "Monday Blues", but when you look closely you realize there are so many shades to that blue that keep changing in time and space. If you make an effort and acknowledge and look deep into those blues you will realize it's a palette of all those beautiful shades. And as they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, it's your perspective that makes just a single boring blue color to delightful shades of blue. And like the infinite sky and the magnificent mountains that look into the Pangong lake like looking into a mirror, the blues in our life helps us reflect on our feelings and emotions.
So let's stop blaming the blues and use them as a mirror to reflect upon ourselves and leave the Monday blues with a reflection of our bright beautiful smile and brace ourselves to tackle the Tuesday Hues!
Happy Reading,
Until next time,
