Dear Cycle,

Dear Cycle, Today (i.e 11th of July 2025) I let you go, it was difficult, but necessary too. People talk a lot about the art of letting go, but they don’t tell you how difficult it is, but what made it easy, or bearable for me was a movie called Meiyazhagan, which was about two men and a common cycle that was important to both of them at different point of time in their lives, but if one would not have let that cycle go, the other’s life would not have been what is was because of the cycle. I don’t expect that much drama out of you (cycle), but maybe someday that story would replay and instead of two men there would be two women, a common cycle and an endless ride to nostalgia. My Last photo with Cycle! I still remember the day we got you, yes we because it was me, Mumma, Durva and Saurabh Dada. He came on his scooty to the cycle shop named 'Amey Cycles' and then he rode you back home and we came on his scooty, all the way back while sitting behind on the scooty my eyes were ...

Summer Holidays in Gwalior!

Sketch of the House by Mumma! Me, Durva & a Cow on the gate! Once upon a time when the month of May used to be summer vacations, we used to visit Gwalior, a city, a district, a historically important place, and more than that my birth place. It was quite simple, the first ten summer vacations of my life were just going to Gwalior, there was no stress of packing clothes, books, shoes, sunglasses, everything was taken care of by Mumma. It was so exciting to catch a train and enjoy it for 19 hours to travel 1220 kms.  I started writing this blog once before this and ended up writing all about the train journey only and felt like the train journey to Gwalior is in itself a topic for a blog which I will write some time later. For now I want to relive my summer vacations in Gwalior through this blog, and I hope you too recall and reminisce about your childhood summer vacations after reading this one.  So it always began with searching for Patil Baba (Blog link: https://sidthissid...

Virtues Nursery!

Goswami Madam and mini Siddhi! God cannot be everywhere so he created Parents and Teachers. Parents often see us grow all along but teachers witness us only for some years and then we grow up and move on to the next class and they are left behind with a new batch of students. My first school or now as they say playschool was ‘Virtues Nursery’ where I did my playgroup and nursery under the guidance and great teachings of my most respected and dearest Goswami Madam. The name of the school was a reflection of what we were taught, yes ‘virtues’ of respect, conduct, care, love, sharing and so much more. I still remember being taught how to sit properly, how to respect elders, how to eat food when sitting with a gathering alongside the alphabet, numbers and poems. After a certain point we are generally taught the syllabus of our curriculum, but it was in Virtues Nursery that lessons on life and the conduct of it were actually taught.  Goswami Madam could teach us ‘Virtues’ as she ...

Golden Birthday, Golden Memories.

Today is my golden birthday, well if you don't know, don't google it because I have, it is basically that birthday when your birth date and age coincides. So on this 22nd February I turn 22 and it's my golden birthday 🎉! With the golden birthday what I recall are the golden memories of my birthdays so far. As a kid there were always butterflies in my stomach before and on birthdays. It felt like the most important day in the year, but over the years it is just like any other day. But now there are so many memories to recall on birthdays that the feeling of any other day goes into the background and the good old days take the front seat! In the early 2000's the birthday parties had a different charm altogether. The house was full with kids ranging from 2 year old's to 20 year old's. Back then we did not know about the generation gap or boomers/ millennial's / Gen Zs. So everybody gathered for everyone' s birthday 🥳 . This reminds me of all my birthdays ...

RRR (Rainy Rickshaw Ride)☔🌂🌧️

With the rainy season finally  commencing in full swing it brings along with it a lot of memories for everyone spanning from childhood to teenage to adulthood.... so on and so forth.   But what I remember profoundly is the rainy ride back home from school, especially the one in the rickshaw. So it used to be almost 8-9 of us traveling in the rickshaw back home. Four on one side, four on the other and one with rickshaw wale Kaka (uncle) at the front, a little too much for the little rickshaw but for Kaka to buy a Van he had to have 8-9 of us.   Before the rickshaw started there were some ground rules, firstly we had to find our rickshaw and then find our rickshawmates and guide them to the rickshaw so that everyone's time is saved, secondly places used to be fixed for some seasons and rotating mostly during rains as the one sitting beside the doors (or maybe we can call them plastic flaps) used to get wet, then thirdly keep all the bags at the backside so that there...
